Comprehensive DPIIT NOC Approval Process

What is NOC

The products imported from overseas not falling under the compliance for the BIS Certification either in the terms of Change in Chemical Composition, Mechanical Properties, End Usage or varying HS (ITC Code) require NOC Letter for the Custom Clearance and sold of the Goods in India either from Ministry of Steel, Ministry of Mines, Ministry of Chemicals and Petrochemicals etc.

DPIIT stands for Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. This certification body grants the No Objection Certificate for the products that are out of Purview of BIS Standard Specification and also from the Ministry of Steel (considered under SIMS 2.0 approval portal)

NOC is granted to the importer firm having registered IEC in India.

NOC Approval Procedure

The NOC obtained from DPIIT are for the products which are Out of Purview of BIS Certification due to varying Chemistry, Mechanical Properties etc. and also out of the purview of Ministry of Steel (covered under SIMS 2.0 Registration). The NOC is granted for each consignment irrespective of the Consignment Size, Invoice Value and the Cost of production/selling. One NOC refers to the validity of 60 days and subjected to the applicability of the specific consignment applied for the same.

Grant of NOC Letter

  1. Prepare the requisite documents
  2. Submit the documents through Mail Channel to DPIIT Authority
  3. The Technical Committee is appointed inclusive of BIS officials from the Concerned Department and also the Ministry officials.
  4. Scrutiny by Competent Authority
  5. Grant of NOC Letter

  1. Prepare the Soft copy of the required documents
  2. Use Registered mail ID, IEC Code and Contact Number for the communication with the competent authority
  3. Submit the information and documents to the competent authority through mail Channel at the respective concerned officials
  4. Wait for the scrutiny by the Dealing Officer from the Concerned Ministry
  5. Grant of NOC Letter

NOC for Material under Transit

  1. Prepare the Soft copy of the required documents
  2. Use Registered mail ID, IEC Code and Contact Number for the communication with the competent authority
  3. Submit the information and documents to the competent authority through mail Channel
  4. Wait for the scrutiny by the Dealing Officer from the Concerned Ministry
  5. Grant of NOC Letter

  1. Prepare the Soft copy of the required documents
  2. Use Registered Username and Password for uploading the requisite Documents over the portal to competent authority
  3. Communicate the information and documents to the competent authority
  4. Wait for the scrutiny by the Dealing Officer from the Ministry of Steel and Bureau of Indian Standards
  5. Grant of NOC Letter

NOC for Material at Indian Port

  1. Prepare the Soft copy of the required documents
  2. Use Registered mail ID, IEC Code and Contact Number for the communication with the competent authority
  3. Submit the information and documents to the competent authority through mail Channel.
  4. Wait for the scrutiny by the Dealing Officer from the Concerned Ministry
  5. Grant of NOC Letter over the Registered Mail address of Importer

  1. Prepare the Soft copy of the required documents
  2. Use Registered Mail ID of Importer Firm for uploading the requisite Documents over the submitted application mail to competent authority
  3. Communicate the information and documents to the competent authority
  4. Wait for the scrutiny by the Dealing Officer from the Concerned Ministry and Bureau of Indian Standards
  5. Grant of NOC Letter over registered mail address of Importer
