What is CRS Approval?

The Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) is operated by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under Scheme-II. It is a mandatory certification for most Electronics and IT equipment before they can be manufactured, imported, or sold in India.

Unlike other schemes, CRS is based on self-declaration of conformity. The manufacturer gets their product tested by a BIS-recognized lab and then applies to BIS for registration. This ensures product quality and safety, providing a competitive edge in the market.
